How long does it take EMIStream to perform analysis?

It depends on the size of the boards and the number of nets. Potentially it can analyze a board that is 400 square centimeters and has 300 nets in approximately 30 seconds.

How can EMI be checked without IBIS? Is it low accuracy?

Components for EMI suppression are already set up in EMIStream. Default values provide highly practical analysis.

Is it necessary to set up the component types and net frequency?

Regarding the frequency, default values have already been set up. If naming rules for the component type have been created, it is possible to automatically set the component type. Of course, it is also possible to input the component type manually and change default values.

Is it possible to modify the threshold value?

Yes, it is possible to modify the threshold value. EMC Expert Option has a function to modify each net parameter and threshold value with graphics.

After considering the parts placement with EMIStream, is it possible to transfer the information back to Layout-CAD?

Yes, it is. Back annotation is available.

What range of frequency is required to measure with resonance analysis?

Its frequency depends on SPICE (approximately up to 3 GHz).

Are there any limitations on board size?

Board size is usually 2 square meters, but there are no limitations with regard to the number of layers, components, and nets.

Is EMIStream able to analyze with Gerber data?

No, Gerber data does not contain net information; therefore, EMI Stream cannot perform the necessary check functions.

Can a customized function be accommodated?

No, EMIStream is not able to accommodate customized functions. However, if we receive requests from a customer and they are determined to have usage in a general sense, the function will be added to the next version of the software. EMC Expert Option is available for more professional use. This option allows you to customize in-depth parameters.

What CAD I/F can be accepted?

 Design file I/F, ODB++ I/F, ODBG I/F, PADS I/F, and Zuken CR-5000 I/F are accepted.

Can the application report EMI issues separately from Signal Integrity issues?

EMIStream has an interface to HyperLynx. Therefore, EMI issues are reported by EMIStream and Signal Integrity issues are reported by HyperLynx if the user has both tools.

Can you list more specifically the Signal Integrity issues that are identified by the application?

This application cannot identify SI issues.

Does the system handle multiple power planes or does it assume one power and one ground plane?

This system analyzes one pair of power and ground planes at a time, even if there are multiple powers. However, EMC Expert Option has a multi-layer resonance analysis function that can analyze the entire PCB and shows the effect of each pair of planes. This allows you to consider via as well as capacitor placements.

What preparation needs to be done before utilizing EMIStream?

The library and threshold values have already been set up, so if CAD data has been obtained beforehand, it can be utilized at the time of installation.

Only one division within the same building is authorized to use EMIStream.

Yes, it is possible to verify them with EMIStream viewer, which is optional software.
