NEC aims to create social value through its social contribution activities.
These activities not only play an important role in building trust with communities and society but also serve as great opportunities for gaining insights into solving social issues with ICT.

Almost 100,000 NEC employees worldwide promote the NEC Make-a-Difference Drive based on four themes.

Utilizing our experience in sponsoring wheelchair tennis since 1991, NEC has supported various parasports.
Our employees also actively participate in sports activities as volunteers.
To nurture human resources capable of addressing social issues, we promote NEC Social Entrepreneurship School.

I operate a program called Ryushoku.
We send Japanese corporate volunteers to emerging countries in Asia to work at NPOs or social enterprises for a few months to solve social issues.

I learned to put society ahead of corporate endeavors.
It was a remarkable point, especially coming from NEC.
I was truly impressed by how much thought NEC puts into society.

In addition, by taking advantage of the skills of NEC employees, the program supports entrepreneurs in solving social issues.
In Nagai City, Yamagata Prefecture, our employees apply their marketing skills to promote a project in which nursery items are made using local materials.

To preserve biodiversity, NEC has embarked on a Paddy Making Project aimed at realizing the return of ibises to nature in the next 100 years.
Many creatures have returned to their natural habitats through the use of ICT.
Sake made by rice harvested from the field has widened the circle of paddy making.

We help people with neuromuscular diseases communicate using ICT.
Over 3,000 health professionals have participated thus far, and the lessons learned are now being used on the front lines of medicine.

Whether it's to reduce poverty or make cities safer, NEC has provided support in accordance with the challenges faced by regions around the world.
More than 30,000 NEC employees participate each year.

NEC will continue to address social challenges as a social value innovator.
