Uses NEC original NOAH-6 processor to boost core processing speed. Fewer mounted parts and use of highly efficient power supply slash power consumption by up to 50% compared to previous models.
One cabinet can accommodate up to two systems, as well as a virtual tape storage device. This enables an installation footprint that is up to 50% smaller than previous models. The ability to accommodate both storage and host servers in a single cabinet is one of NEC's strengths.

This allows operation in high-temperature environments without concern for cooling and ventilation, even in dusty places such as factory floors, thereby contributing to overall power saving including for air conditioning of your facilities.
A high-efficiency AC adapter and power-saving CPU helps to reduce power consumption by 79%.

Superior points:
NEC original patent-protected structure using polarizing properties of laser light in the light source, which reduces the average bulk and weight compared with other companies’ products in the same class (5000 lm or more) by 40% each, to achieve a 40% lighter product. This also means improved loading efficiency, resulting in an LCA result calculated at time of transportation of approx. 70% less CO₂ (NEC calculation result).
Use of a laser light source achieves long lamp life of 20,000 hours, thereby tripling the replacement cycle of the optical element and making this product economical in terms of resource use.

Surveys the situation of global precipitation at high frequency and across a wide range, not only on land but over the oceans. Two types of radar (Ku-band and Ka-band precipitation radar) on board the satellite obtain 3D distribution data on heavy through to light precipitation, enabling observation of the precipitation situation at high accuracy in tropical regions and at high latitudes where it was not possible before.

Temperature rises in mounted parts are minimized through the placement of components with optimal cooling efficiency inside the cabinet. Precise control of fan speed coordinated with temperature sensors and other means suppress temperature rises in components, allowing operation in environments as hot as 45℃ in rack servers*1 and 48℃ in mini-towers or slim towers*2 and also allowing operation in cold areas in environments as cold as 5℃.

  • While competitors use water-cooling systems and high-pressure refrigerant (phase change) systems, we at NEC have established a cooling technology consisting of a low-pressure refrigerant (phase change: liquid → gas) system that makes it possible to transfer heat without using any power.
  • The waste heat of the IT equipment can be received over the entire surface of the rear door of the rack. Valveless control is achieved through the use of a reserve tank to which multi-stage heat receiving sections featuring coolant circulation technology are connected. This design eliminates the need for electric power for coolant circulation and makes it possible to transport more than 50% of server-generated heat 15 meters without power, greatly improving cooling efficiency.

By supporting the same environmental temperature as our Express servers, even customers who run server linkage operations can set the air conditioning temperature as high as 40℃, thereby reducing power consumption for server room air conditioning.
