NEC Eco Action Plan
The NEC Eco Action Plan is a document published independently by NEC and includes NEC's environmental protection activity targets. This document was first published in 1993 in an effort to raise the public transparency of NEC's environmental protection activities.
NEC Environment Award
An NEC Group internal award. This award aims to promote environmental management by recognizing achievements in environmental support in all business operations.
NEC Environment Forum
A forum held to comprehensively explain NEC's environmental activities to customers. The forum includes lectures, seminars, the introduction of new business models that utilize IT, and exhibitions of environmentally sound products (eco product).
NEC Environmental Management Vision 2010
This is NEC's long-term environmental management vision. NEC aims to offset the 5 million tons of direct and indirect CO₂ emissions from NEC business operations by fiscal year 2011 by contributing to the reduction of CO₂ emissions through energy conservation products and IT and network solutions. → IT solution
NEC Group Vision 2017
The NEC Group Vision 2017 states what the NEC Group envisions as a company and the society that we strive to realize in 10 years, in keeping with our corporate philosophy. This can be summed up as "To be a leading global company leveraging the power of innovation to realize an information society friendly to humans and the earth."
Net Audit
An electronic ISO conformance auditing system. This system consists of Net auditing, whereby auditors check regulations and various records on all the company's Web sites via the Internet; Net interviewing, whereby auditors carry out meetings or interviews with managers via a TV conferencing system; and on-site auditing, whereby auditors visit the company to check any problems picked up in the Net auditing or to verify the actual operation of environmental management activities.
Net community
A Net community is a virtual community consisting of an unspecified number of people who meet on the Internet to exchange information and ideas on common topics and concerns.
Net surfing
This is the practice of exploring the Internet and picking up information with no specific goal in mind. The Net surfer rides his/her wave of interest from site to site.
Non-halogen flame retardant plastic
A plastic that does not use halogen flame retardant. Compared with former retardant additives, this material shows a great reduction in environmental impact during combustion.
NuCycle
A flame-resistant plastic that does not release toxic gases when burned. This material was developed jointly with Sumitomo Dow Limited.
