Fostering diverse human resources

NEC MOBILE CONNECTION

High school teachers provide various types of guidance to the students. The teachers focus all their energy on not only guidance concerning the path for the students to take after high school graduation, but also "career education" to lead students to do something after graduation.

Teachers and schools are currently requested to enrich the contents of career education for creating an opportunity for third-year students to think independently about their future, take action aggressively, and select the best options.

By introducing jobs involving the mobile phone which is something high school students are very familiar with, the wider society becomes less intimidating and the students are exposed to a broader spectrum of career options and taught about the many options available to them. As a result, NEC has been holding "NEC Mobile Connection" as a joint effort with Sodateage Net NPO, in order to empower youths to independently and actively determine their futures.

Comments from Participants

  • I realized for the first time that many people from divisions such as the Product Planning Division, the Marketing Division and the Customer Service Division are involved in producing one mobile phone and that the process is time consuming.
