The contract bridge, a card game, has been "a part of socializing" and "a sign of culture" for a long time in Europe and the United States, and today it is an official sports competition recognized by the International Olympic Committee as a "mind sport."

In order to popularize bridge in Japan and improve the level of play, NEC has supported the "NEC Bridge Festival" held by the Japan Contract Bridge League from its inception.
The main event of this festival is the "NEC Cup" international tournament which includes some of the top international players and players representing Japan. This is an important event that helps to improve the level of Japanese players and fosters international friendship.

In addition, contract bridge helps to develop memory, concentration, analysis of information, decision making, logical thinking and other mental aspects that help children grow, so that it has been adopted as an educational material around the world. The "NEC Bridge Festival" includes a "Bridge Experiencing Class" that children can also participate in as part of our efforts to popularize contract bridge.

Bridge is undergoing a quiet boom throughout Japan as a game that is fun and helps to improve the intellect, and we hope that all who are interested in it will come to the festival.
