Collection Activities

Used Stamps

Through the activities of the NPO "LIFE: Live with friends on the Earth," used stamps help to improve living conditions for Indian and Indonesian people.

How It Works

Used stamps are collected and sent to LIFE: Live with friends on the Earth, then...

  1. The stamps are sorted into Japanese stamps, foreign stamps, and unused stamps.
  2. Used stamps are carefully detached from the paper and dried.
  3. All the stamps are sold to stamp collectors through Internet-based auctions.
  4. 200 g of stamps can pay one-months salary for a teacher who teaches a supplementary class in the "Integrated Development Project for Women and Children" in India.
