How It Works

Foreign coins collected by volunteers are sent to the Japan Committee for UNICEF, then...

  1. Coins are sorted by country of origin.
  2. The Japan Committee for UNICEF works with five private companies to send the coins to foreign countries.
  3. The coins are exchanged into US dollars in these countries and deposited in a Japan Committee for UNICEF account.
  4. Ten US dollars for example can buy 500 vitamin A capsules that will help prevent vision loss.
