Many children are moving away from science is an issue these days. To support teachers who do not like science, NEC started the science experiment class, "NEC Teachers' Science Laboratory" for teachers, with classes held for the first time to help elementary school teachers perform science experiment classes.
In collaboration with Dr. Shizuka Matsunobu, Doctor of Agriculture, and a representative of the Science Education Research Forum who performs more than 50 science experiment classes in a year mainly for public elementary and junior high schools, tips for experiment equipment management and practical experiment ideas were introduced.
This program was designed to eliminate teachers' science-is-not-the-favorite-subject feeling and prevent children from disliking science by making elementary school teachers feel "science is interesting and fun after all!"
