Overview

The Japan Sitting Volleyball Championship in which many players from Japan National Team who try to obtain a ticket to the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro was held on 12 and 13, December 2015. Rallies led by excellent teamworks and powerful attacks were seen through the Championship.

In sitting volleyball, players must have at least one buttock in contact with the floor whenever they make contact with the ball, and it became an official event of Paralympics. Sitting volleyball is becoming popular because those without disability can participate in games in Japan, and both physically impaired and those without can enjoy games as a team. The rules are basically the same as ordinary volleyball. However, standing up and jumping are prohibited which are specific to sitting volleyball.
