In March 2013, Universal Studios Japan® launched "Wonder Money," a smartphone-based e-money service for use exclusively within the Park. * By simplifying payment for dining and shopping, visitors can better enjoy the Park without the hassle of waiting in a long line.
It gets better. We will further this service by analyzing the information of visitors who used e-money as well as the POS shopper data to offer tailored offerings such as offering coupons of the guest's favorite character on their anniversary, etc.
From the e-money server, payment terminal to the smartphone application, NEC offers the Integrated E-Money Solutions.

"Facial recognition gate system" adds entertainment at entry
The facial recognition gate system allows smooth entry into the Park. When a guest brings their face close to the monitor at the entrance gate and in just one second, it recognizes the guest and opens the gate.
It not only reduces the wait time at entry but the entry itself becomes part of the great entertainment of Universal Studios Japan®. This uses the world’s leading face recognition technology from NEC.
*Recognized as the world’s No.1 facial recognition technology in an accuracy contest carried out by the NIST(National Institute of Standards and Technology.
