Space satellite plays an important role in our lives today.
It helps protect the environment and identify the causes of climate changes.
It also helps minimize the impact of natural disasters such as an earthquake, flood and volcanic eruption through continuous surveillance.
Also, the observation data helps our daily lives by improving the precision of weather forecast, stabilizing supply of grains and fishery as well as enhancing the accuracy of transport information.

Space satellite has become a crucial part for the Earth and for all of us who live on Earth.

NEC has nearly 60 years of history in the space business. From developing and manufacturing the space satellite to the operation after launch, we have the expertiseto develop a wide range of space technology.

We have developed nearly 70 space satellites to date including "Oosumi", the first Japanese satellite ever to travel the outer space, "Himawari" that diffused satellite data for use in weather forecasts,"Daichi" that provides crucial observation data in times of disaster and emergency,and "Hayabusa" that achieved a historical feat by returning with a sample of an asteroid....

Also, in order to broaden the possibilities in outer space,we are currently developing "ASNARO"(due for a 2013 launch), high-performance but affordable Earth observation satellite.
Also we are involved in the development of a space probe "Hayabusa2" (due for a 2014 launch) which aims to collect samples from another asteroid and bring them back to Earth.
