NEC has a very long history of tape products for main frame Computer and has been in the tape business for over 40 years. NEC started off in 1960s with half inch open reel tape, and kept on working to launch half inch cartridge type tape automation, which it successfully did in early 70s. The half inch cartridge type tape automation produced several products during 80s and 90s respectively.
NEC has always launched products that are the cores of market demand. The most recent of such ventures are introduced here.
